tones enrich the luxurious slate patio of this 2001 winner
of the California Landscape Contractors Association Residential
Renovation award. Studio Green Landscape Architects designed
the stone steps which lead from the street to the dramatic
wooden entry gate which heralds the Craftsman-style home
beyond. When drenching
winter rains sluice down the hillside of this Larkspur
home, the full-length drains that Dan Fix installed
in the graded patio handle the flow. The entrance to
the house is accented with hand-set slate in a diamond
pattern.
The new stone walls include a rustic curving stairway
made of railroad-ties and aggregate. The slide show
